Peace is the new happiness.
Happiness is defined as: gladness or joy: a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.
Peace is: freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility.
Most people, in order to get to happiness try a variety of things. New experiences, new people, trying to change old patterns etc.
Happiness requires effort, especially when you are feeling 'low or down in the dumps.'
Peace a very necessary counterpart of happiness but is much easier to experience.
As described above, peace is quiet and tranquility.
If you happen to be feeling stressed, anxious or low: look for peace and miraculously, you will find happiness lurking in the corner.
To help find peace, here are a couple of ideas.
1. Sit in a quiet spot for twenty minutes.
2. Find something easy but creative to do. E.g. cook, gardening, drawing. (It has to feel easy to do in the moment).
3. Just take a morning off (4 hours) by having no sound around you. (No TV, computers, phones). Basically no buzzing sounds.
Surprise, surprise. Peace has found its way into your heart.
And sometimes, that is enough.
