Easing yourself out of your comfort zone

Just do it. That's the general philosophy.

But sometimes, you just don't want to do it.

It's too scary, too big, too soon, too 'something'.

So, what to do?

When something feels incredibly overwhelming, don't bypass the fear.

That will put your body into shock mode.

Instead, ease your way out of your comfort zone.

Make it smooth and easy and kind.

E.g. you want to perform a one-act solo performance in front of a thousand people.

That is your grand plan.

Instead of 'trying' to sell your idea to someone who has access to a large audience , just act out your play in front of one of your friends.

See how that feels. Joyful, fun, exciting?

That feeling of joy will move you forward to take a bigger risk (e.g. a performance in front of five or fifteen people).

Not only is this good for your mind, body and soul, you'll have an easier time taking on risks in the future.
